Recently purchased a Marada runabout (our first boat). We were getting it all prepared for our first outing and went to open up the gas tank and realized - we don't know how. The cap is flush with the boat and has a long slender slit through the middle but doesn't seem to open. Is there a trick? Thanks for any help

Check the boat supply catalogs. Lots of gizmos. In the meantime use a quarter and pair of pliers.

Re: Opening Fuel Tank Cap

What would that tank key be called? I've been using a chisel and last weekend my son jumped in the boat just as I was about to open the tank and I ended up slipping and scratching the boat and cap. It's not too bad but I would like to get one of these keys before something else happens.
