Hi All I have a 19' Key West w/ a Johnson 115 that I recently purchased. I am trying to learn as much as possible and this site is very helpful. I am having a problem w/, I believe, aerating or ventilation. When I am running in light chop I am constantly venting or aerating the prop. The motor has a 20" down shaft. The number on the prop is 6758 and it is 3 blade. My bottom plate on the motor is 1 and 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches higher than the bottom of the boat. Because of the transom the motor can not be lowered any further down than it is. I bought a hydro foil but I haven't installed it yet. I hope this may help. Is there anything else I can Do? Thank You

Re: Engine Ventilating or Aerating

Problem Found. Very little cupping on the prop. Had prop re-cupped. Ventilation eliminated.
