No one can tell you that. It will vary from motor to motor, and carb to carb, and it will be different at different elevations. You need to make that adjustment per the Factory service manual. In a nutshell, the motor will probably start with the pilot screws somewhere around 2 turns out. Verify the link adjustments, warm up the motor, and sync the carbs from there.

Thank you pvanv.Near enough. I am no novice at this and I have never come across a motor that does not have initial settings. This is the first Nissan that I have looked at and it doesn't seem to be much different to any of the other Japanese motors. I run Suzuki's, Yamaha's, Mercury and Johnson on my boats.

1 3/4 initial....But you do have to have an ear for this.

I have the same idle issue and and started a thread under NS 70A won't Idle .

Any help would be greatful .
