HI GUYS got a mercury 60 3 cyl 2 stroke on simms super v me n mate fitted new trim motor cleaned carbs compression tests new plugs lower oil change done ourselves took her out today ran lovely when we came back to flush out engine the the peehole had a heavy stream of smoke i know the impellor has not been changed for a least 3 to 4 years does it sound like the impellor has just siezed and melted can that happen just like that any help much thanks

dont understand how can b working 1 hour blasting out and next hour steam instead n not a drop

Replace your impeller. A plastic bag in the water has taken out more than one impeller.

It's pushing steam because it's REALLY hot. Check your compression to make sure gasket is good. Then pull lower unit, change impeller, and spray garden hose up the water tube to check for flow. If the impeller was disintegrated then pulll the thermostat and blow water down to try and get rid of any impeller particles before you put lower unit back on.
