on the generation 2 merc alpha drives, there is an opening on the leading edge of the lower unit which is the intake for the water passage which supplies pressure to a speedometer. Mine is clogged. Is there anyway to clean them out?

I've cleaned the opening with a small screwdriver, but there is some buildup in the passage between that opening the fitting located where the hose from the upper half of the drive attaches. Should I just bring down my airtank and put 100psi on it? I tried that when I had the boat out of the water, with not as much pressure, and was able to get water to dribble out of the hole.

use a small diameter drill bit in your hand (not in a drill) and you can twist it to grab stuff and pull it out. You don't want to shove any scrud into the pinhole leading to the tube.
