I wasn't to sure were to post this at but I'm going to a boat salvage yard to get an outboard for a project boat! I know nothing about the boat i haven't got the boat yet....its free and i was wondering whats the best way to go about this is! I don't have a particular motor picked out so a broad answer will be great! It would be between a 90hp and 150hp four stroke! Where would i start?!? How to remove the trim or jack plate if it has it? take the motor off first then the jack plate? I understand i need to disconnect the fuel, controls, and steering then start to unbolt the motor! I plan on using an engine hoist from harbor fright to lift the motor using straps around it if possible. I know mechanics so i know i can handle this! I need a good 2x4 engine stand plan also! Then to mount I know to rebolt using 5200! HAHA i know this is a lot but i just want to make sure i do this all right! Just a broad plan of action is what I'm looking for! Thanks!
