Merecury 75 hp , 4 stroke , year 2000....motor shuts down when put into gear , starts every time , runs good & strong in NEUTROL.....prior to encountering this problem , i was running full throttle down the lake , heard a strange "clicking" sound , throttled back , noised seemed to dissapear , continued to run , turned off motor to talk to another boater , motor started with no problem , when put into gear , forward or reverse motor shut down.......any ideas ????
