forward control issue

1. Evinrude 50 hp model number E50BELCNR. Would anyone know what year make it is?
2. re forward controls for same model: the throttle lever handle raises and lowers fine, but with the cover off the motor I can see there is very little movement with the mechanism at the business end of the cable. It probably requires adjustment in the forward control box, but I don't have any diagrams/manual to see how to do this. Anyone help?

check the cable by taking it off the motor end see if its free when you shift the control box then. While youve got the cable off shift the lever on the motor manually it should be fairly easy to shift from forward to neutral and reverse most likely its binding in the cable or the end broke off the cable in the control box but check the linkage on the motor end first
