I have a 50 horsepower force outboard. It looks like i blew the head gasket. I noticed today while trying to set the carb correctly water was dripping out of the lower cylinder spark plug. How do i ground the plugs? I do not have a kill switch on my motor. Could this be coming from the exhaust housing?

Re: head gasket trouble

Water could be comming from almost anywhere, cylinder head cover or the head gasket etc.
To do a comp test you don't need to ground the wires.Don't turn the key on.Use a jumper wire.J

Re: head gasket trouble

I have an 1989 50 horse force. Ok i did a compression test today and i had 140 on the top cylinder and 120 on the bottom cylinder. To bring yall up to date the reason i had to do this was i notice water dripping out of the bottom spark plug hole. Did i blow the head gasket or could it be a exhaust gasket?
