Hello,
I have a 1989 Force 150 hp on a 1989 Ebbtide. My ignition switch is shot so I bought a Sierra Mercury replacement. Everything is the same as my old switch except the wire colors. There are no markings on the back of the switch. The wires are:
Red, Black, Purple, Black w/green, Yellow w/black, Yellow w/red. Can anyone please tell me where each wire goes, or point me in the right direction to locate a diagram?
This is a push to choke.

Thanks,
Tom

Re: Ignition switch

Ok, I think I figured it out.

Red wire=battery, positive

Black wire=ground

Purple wire=accsessories

Yellow w/black= push the choke

Yellow w/red= starter celanoid

Black w/green= magnito
