Help, I cannot find serial number

I have a 1991 Merc 40 HP 4 cyl two stroke oil injected motor and I cannot find a serial numberr anywhere. There is no sticker anywhere on the transom mount or the tilt area. There must be a hidden number somewhere on this motor, does anyone know where it is??

I want to order some parts and eveyone wants the serial number
