I need help to find a way to get my cap off the hull, my cap has the bow seats and floor attached to it there not wood...
I'm doing a complete restoration like Frisco boater is with his sea ray, I just need to know if the deck goes under the cap in the front if someone can give me some info that would be great thanks.

The front section should be part of the cap, you need to remove the rubrail and see how its fastened, rivits? Bolts?

I just added some pictures to my thread, I got the rubrail off and the bolts out I can split it using the hoist and tydowns straps but it start to creek because of the wait and I don't want it to break! I can only get it up about two to three inches!

If it wont lift off, then you'll have to see if there is something holding it somewhere. If it comes up a few inches, its likely it'll keep coming. Hard to say without seeing it.

Check back by the transom. Sometimes the MFG tabs the splashwell to the hull. Post some pics all the way round.

Re: Need help splitting Cap form Hull

I will add some pictures for you guys as soon as I can, My big problem is that I'm doing this in a boat storage unit with no electric hook up!!
I know that it will come apart the most that I got it up was about six inches and all I hear is it flexing and I didn't like the sound... Is there a better way to lift it, its got a crap load of weight to it!
Thanks,
Ryan

I would suggest sliding some 2x4's under the cap and lifting with them.

Is the back of the cap lifting as well? Like Wood said sometimes they glue the splaswell to the transom. Mine was, I had to use a 12" sawzall to cut the glue joint.

You going to need power to rebuild your boat, don't know how you'd do without?
