almost there on 1975 johnson 50hp

Ive gone through a whole bunch of stuff and almost have this thing running again after sitting 5 years. Now its starting for a bit when i spray gas into the cylinder removing the spark plug. But it wont start spraying into the carb. Could it be that clogged?

What's your compression like?? Will the spark jump a 7/16 " open air gap??

actually I figured out that if you spray enough gas through the carb itll start soo looked at the fuel line to the carb from the filter and it was all rotten and cracked, hopefully this will do it. the spark jumps the gap in the plugs fine, the compression i dont know, probably not too good since I rethreaded the plug holes but it should be fine.
