While under power, my motor suddenly loses power, as if the kill switch lanyard was pulled from the switch. I wasn't using the lanyard..didn't have it hooked up. But after a while, the motor started again. Did this several times while running, maybe 10 minutes apart, then restarted. I jiggled the switch wires under my console, and felt the connections to the back of the ignition switch every time, and I'm not sure if I have a wiring issue or powerhead issue. Does anyone know if a computer diagnostic check would give any light to the problem? I am the original owner of the motor, and I can't recall ever using the kill switch, but the engine starts good, every time. It's underway where we have issues. Not idling, but running. After reading some other posts, it looks like there have been past issues with wiring..I am no good with electrical components, but willing to use common sense in checking out issues. Thx.

When's the last time the cooling pump was checked or serviced? Sounds like it may be overheating.

Do you have a system check guage / tach? If there is a prob with the motor it should send and alarm and throw a LED light if anything.

I have the same problem with a 2002 200 ficht. Dies underway... just like you turned the key off....no warning lights or codes. My battery connections are tight and clean. No water in the fuel. Could this be an ingnition/kill switch problem?

john111, start your own thread. Don't not hijack someone else's if you want help.

check the water supply to the EMM to make sure its not clocked . maybe the emm overheats, shuts down and kicks in again when cooled down. at a ficht its of course ever a good idea to plug it do a diagnostic software when you can do this.

Had the exact same problem. Took my boat to the dealer where I bought it and they first replaced the fuel pump, ($350) but did not fix problem. Then replaced oil uploader, $350 used which fixed the problem. I question the gas pump. Total was about $900. I think they left off the labor because of misdiagnose.
