Hi all,
I want to buy my first boat this Summer to play in fresh waters of Lake Washington as well as salty Puget Sound here in WA state. I'm looking for a versatile boat to be used for some wake boarding and entertaining, and could be taken to salt water. My budget is ~25K (+/-) and i was looking at 2006 Seaswirl 237 and 2007 Four Winns 210SS at craigslist. Am i looking at the right types of boats:confused:? Any suggestions?

I'd be searching "dual console" boats if I was in the market for a salty bowrider.

What makes a boat a "dual console" and why would that be important for what i want to use it for? Thank you very much

Mainly, a "dual console" (I admit the terminology is confusing), as opposed to your standard bowrider, usually has a self bailing deck.

They're also usually more suited to being exposed to the weather uncovered than a bowrider.

They are a fairly recent segment in popularity. I think they're badass myself. :)

A good all around boat for water like you will be in is the 19' center console with bow seating, like the Trophy pictured below, or the dual console like the sea hunt. Sea hunt's ultra comes in center console with stern seating too, I think. Get an outboard. For the sound, I wouldn't get a bay boat (hull design) or a typical bow rider as neither is as safe and dry in choppy water as a hull with a spoon like on the Sea Hunt triton (and dozens of others; just trying to get you on the same webpage for comparison of design).

I say 19' b/c it's easier for a new boater to manage, especially if trailering is involved.
