My turn for a transom

I have a 95 Regal 176Valente and have a leak around the outdrive. I pulled the out drive off and found a rotten transom. Following the advice on here I cut the fiberglass skin off the inside and removed all the transom wood. A coarse diamond blade cut very well. The transom board was pretty much non existant from rot. I guess my question is, once I make a new one out of exterior plywood and fit it in, there will most likely be small voids around the edges of the plywood. What do you fill these in with or do you not fill them. I will be using epoxy fiberglass resin for the job but I don't think it will fill a void. I also need a filler for the boat shell behind the transom board. The original stuff came away from the fiberglass in a couple of areas and have to be re filled. Thanks for any help.

Re: My turn for a transom

Thanks for the links. Lot of good reading there. Stayed up half the night looking that over. With a bit of patience I now have a plan to get the job done.
