New to I/O and I just bought a 76' Thunderbird Signa for 300 bucks with trailer for a project!!! Some of the hoses are disconnected and I figured out I am missing a Water Distribution Block. This hasn't been run in 5 years and has been winterized. My Main question is: Where should I start as far as changing parts/filters/plugs etc.... Any help is greatly appreciated as I am new to I/O and looking to get as much knowledge.

Go to church on Sunday and say your prayers;). Then call a reliable boat surveyor to look over your boat HULL, ENGINE and OUTDRIVE. Will probably be the best couple of hundred bucks you ever spent. Have them give you a complete report, then decide what to do. Let us know how it turns out.

Get the engine to run & circulate water first. If no cracks are found, and engine runs, move onto getting it tuned up.

here would be a great place to learn as much as possible about your drive and engine.

yes, download and read the manual that zig was nice enough to post a link to

then you can identify what engine/drive you have, what seems to be wrong with it and then someone may be able to point you in the right direction

are you familiar with how a points ignition system works??

mechanical fuel pump??

take some time to look over anything hosewise that looks cracked or stiff and replace it with the proper style hose

same with wiring, battery, wood, etc...

learn how to pull the drive and inspect all transom assy components, replacing the water pump in the drive, pressure testing the drive
