My 2 cycle merc salt water series will run great for awhile and sometimes long enough to enjoy the trip. But other times after some use I can not get the RPMs above 2000. She will drop quickly from 4,000 to 2,000 and without throttle manipulation it would stall. After this it becomes necessary to limp back to the slip slowly.
I bought the boat used about a month ago and it came to me with 1/2 tank of gas. I have added fresh gas to this, added fuel treatment including water treatment and changed all gas filter. Still the problem.
Can anyone let me know what the problem could be?
