I picked up an old Johnson outboard at an auction. I'm guessing it is from the '50s or '60s model. It's a small motor, probably less than 5 HP. Where should I look for the model number and serial number? Thanks.
On older engines there was a plate below the carry handle, then they switched the plate to the port transom clamp. They could be covered by paint or grease.
