Hi, I've got a friend's boat here at the junkyard that he'd like me to sell for him. He thinks it's a 1972 Sea Gypsy. It's got a 115 Merc, and the inside is shot, but I think it's kind of a neat boat, so I'd like to be able to present it as correctly as possible in hopes of finding someone who'll appreciate it. I've got a couple pics, and can get more, and/or look at whatever you need me to in order to narrow it down. Thanks!1972 Sea Gypsy 001.jpg1972 Sea Gypsy 002.jpg

Re: Boat Identification...

Well, I do know it's an MFG. I got the numbers off the right rear of the boat. Here's what I have:

MFGCO570M76G

The G & C in the MFGCO could be confused with 0s, but I'm pretty sure this is right. If anyone knows anything, I'd love to hear it. Thanks.

Re: Boat Identification...

Through exhaustive research, I see it's a 1976 Gypsy Star 17. If anyone in the SE MN area is interested in this boat feel free to let me know. Thanks for all the looks.

Hey Bigjdog. You still have the Gypsy Star? I just acquired one from my mother in law and have very minimal info on it also.
