Hello all,

I took the boat out first time this year and it did fine.
Except for the tach reading two times what it should.
At 25 miles per hour the tach should read 3500 but it was
pegged at 6000. I did a search and read all the posts I
could find. My Question is does my Tach have a switch on it?
To match the number of cylinders. I could not find one but
it is hard to see up in there.

thanks for the help

Most tach's have an adjustment on the backside of them that is used to set the tach to the number of Cylinders your engine has. For example, my engine is a 150 with 6 cylinders so my tach is set to 6. Find out who manufactures your tach and see what your needs to be set to.

Tach only reads engine rpm, it has nothing to do with speed.
