Hello,
I have a 1995 70 HP Evinrude motor that starts up right away, runs for about 10 seconds and then dies (hooked up to muffs). It won't restart for quiet sometime after this occurs. After leaving it sit overnight, the same thing will occur (still hooked up to muffs). I have started the boat with the gas cap open, and with it closed.
There is a small amount of oil/gas coming out of the air silencer cover. I rebuilt the carbs at the beginning of the last boating season.
The last time I was out on the lake the boat died after hitting some wake and we had to be towed into shore by another boat. The boat started up fine when I winterized it.
Do any of you knowledgeable folks have any ideas on where to start/ what to do?
Thanks,
Jake
