hi all - new here - but have been reading the forums for years - great stuff - great group of guys from what i have gathered.
my issue is with my newly acquired volvo penta 4.3. its approx 1985, plugs and points, etc
never had it running yet - so any advice appreciated
so far.....
fuel pump checked out, clean fuel, dizzy and rotor and points cleaned and set
nice white sparks achieved - and fuel coming through the snake venom holes in the carb when throttle pumped (rochester 2bbl)
turn it over and get the very occasional pop or attempt to fire
pull out the plugs to see condition and gain clues and the rear plugs 6+5 are flooded and fuelled, but the front 2 are bone dry
i know the fuels getting in but not getting equally to all plugs
any ideas please
its quite an extreme angle that the boat sits at at rest - so the back plugs are lower if that makes a difference
i've even tried to spray a bit of easystart into the mouth of the carb and still nothing.
cheers guys
