I bought a boat about 2 months ago and had it out a couple times. The last time I had it out the died while running wide open then again while idling in to the docks. I did a compression test today and its not good, 1) 95, 3) 0 , 5)75. I stopped there as I knew it was terrible news. Anyone know besides a rebuild any other way to get this thing running again... If not whats the value of a 2000 150 v6 ocean pro that needs a rebuild ?

Yep, it's DEAD. RIP.

There are a lot of very reputable rebuilders out there. iboats sells reman's too.

I think it's definetely worth rebuilding if the rest of it looks OK.

You can figure about $3-400.00 per cylinder for a rebuild.

I take it rebuilding just one cylinder is not common and just rebuild the whole thing correct ? Or do I swap the motor out for something better because I didn't know the history of the his one and if paying about 2200 for a rebuild why not get a yamaha hdpi 150 for 3k ?

Normally you will rebuild only the bad cylinders. You have at least 2 of those. DJ cited a cost of 3-$400/cylinder. I would think that means you do the labor. A fully rebuilt powerhead is more. You need to see what the rest of the cylinders have and why this occurred.
