270 versus 280 help

Hey guys does anyone know wheter a 1979 280 drive<br />can be replaced with a 1976 270 drive. ????? I will be getting from paul arms down??????

As best I can tell from searching the online parts manuals and exploded views of the 280 drives, they are basically the same. I've ordered parts that I could only find on 270 listings that fit my 280 exactly.<br /><br />Duane
