1987 Evinrude 110 HP OB....anything specific to look for in it?

Going to look at a boat Friday that has a 1987 Evinrude 110hp motor on it.

Anything specific to this motor to check/watch out for, like the VRO system (no experience with that at all!) I do know to check compression, lower unit for water intrusion... ;)

biggest cause of major engine failure is either no oil or clogged carb/lean condition, and overheating. make sure your alarm is working properly. Change your impeller. clean/check t-stats. is VRO bypassed??
