Mercury 9.8 impeller change

I have acquired a mercury 9.8 hp motor serial #7209419. It is a 1984 Canadian built long shaft. I am preparing to change the impeller and in reading have become aware that there are two different size impellers for the Merc 110's (.456 or .438). Would anyone happen to know which one is required for my particular engine? Thanks!....Scott

I've run into that situation on several occasions. Your best bet is to take the old one out and check it with a mic or let the dealer take a look at it. I've had to make a second trip to the dealer for just that reason.
