Alright I got a Mercury thunderbolt 10hp outboard. I dont know the year so if someone knows how i can find that, that would be great. My problem with this engine is when going forward at half throttle it runs smooth but when you give it full throttle it bogs out and skips and sputters you let off the throttle just a tad and it runs fine again. But now in revers when given full throttle engine runs smooth all kinds of power and dosnt bog or skip it almost feels like revers should be forward and forward should be reverse. I replaced all the lines on the gas tank and did a carb cleaning i did not rebuild it becuase revers ran so good i feel it cant be a gas problem. Now on the lower unit where the rod is to shift was broke and the person has it held with a metal clamp i cant find a used merc like this one to replace it. I have held the throttle wide open and tried adjusting the carb that had no effect. I have replaced the plugs and all hoses. Does any body have a repair manuel in pdf form and any advice on where to begine fixing this problem because it really sucks when someone kyaking passes you and you have a boat with a motor!!
