I can't believe you didn't try to fix that old girl up. We've seen worse. We had a guy rebuild a boat that had a TREE growing in it!!!!

I have prettymuch the same boat. Did you open up the stringers and yank the waterloggeds foam as well. If so how did you redo the stringers and the foam inside them? Also, what did you do with the side panels?

I also have pretty much the same boat, a '68 Larson 17' closed bow runabout. It's a little different in the rear with two seats on either side of the motor. And, like you folks, the floor is shot. I'm about to open it up this week. I know I'm going to have to replace foam but am also wondering about stringers and such. Any tips you can give or photos you can share will be much appreciated. This is my first boat, first boat repair....gonna be fun but got a lot to learn.

I was able to save the stringers. They were not too bad. Hat to cut the floor out as you see in the pics. I replaced the floor with marine grade wood and then fiber glassed it all back in. New carpet, wiring, seats, Bimini top, controls, and all. Fiber glassing the Transom and putting in supports to the gunnels then fiber glassing them in took the longest.
