my boys just bought a boat,motor and trailer for $300. I need to know a little about the motor. it has been painted camo, but i found some stickers and numbers under the paint. I know its a Sportwin. Not sure how big or what year. The # I got of the Transom tag is 10020-11400. I would also like to know what the mix ratio is. Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

10 horsepower, 1960. Mix is 24:1.

Can one of you tell me what the two knobs are for on the front of the motor are for. they are rich and lean for fast and slow idle. is there a certain way to set them and do they need any adjustment ever

Top adjusts the slow speed and bottom is the high speed. I'd try it as is and see how it runs before messing with it. If you can't get it running, the initial settings for the slow speed are about 1.5 turns out from closed; high speed is about 3/4 turn out from closed. Once running, take her out on the lake and adjust the high speed while running WOT and optimize. Then idle her down and adjust the slow speed for best idle. Then don't mess with them again.
