I have a hard time putting my Johnson into gear. Can it be lubricated and can it be adjusted to move a little easier. Thx for any help

If this question was on any other site it woud be an ad for an enhancement pill.

That being said, it's good to know we are talking about an outboard, are you sure the problem is in the shifter itself? or is there a problem with the gearbox, cables, etc.?

What motor? Is this a new problem, or always been hard?

Basic troubleshooting: Disconnect the controls from the motor and see if it gets easier.
If easier, then you need to look at the motor linkage.
If not, then the fault lies with the cables or the controls.
Any tight bends in your cable routing?

I had to inject WD 40 into the cable with a syringe at various locations ,but do what he said first.

Somebody tightened the friction adjustment perhaps.
