power will not pass thru starter solonoid

installed new solonoid. get power from battery but wont pass thru to kick starter over. any help would be greatly appreciated. kids wanna get to fishikng.

For electrical items to work, there must be current flow. If you have power at the solenoid, then either the solenoid is open or missing a ground to complete the circuit. Might help if a little more info was disclosed regarding the type/manufacturer of the engine.

You need to check whether there is power on the small (start) terminal when the ignition switch is in the START position. If not, you have a wiring or ignition switch problem.
