I have a 2003 mercury 115hp 4 stroke motor. I had a loose ground or a short on one of my batteries on my boat. When i first launched my boat this season the boat started fine, as it did after i performed a tune up. However since the battery was loose or the connections where not tight enough the postive terminal melted and ripped off. This caused the boat to stop running after i put it in the water at the boat ramp.
I replaced the battery and found a loose ground. However after reconnecting the new battery i was unable to start the boat. I was able to lift the motor back up and trailer the boat home. I charged both batteries and i am unable to start the boat the starter is not even turning over all other power equiopment is working all fuses look good.
any suggestions on what could be wrong?
