Howdy Folks, I have a Johnson model rde 19 35hp. Can you tell me what the correct oil mix ratio is? I did a search and found everything from 50:1 to 24:1. I want to make sure I get it right. I plan on purchasing a shop manual for the motor, just can't swing quite yet. Thanks

You need to determine the year of that motor. Johnnyrude recommends 24::1 mix for motors older than 1964.

Maxrules.com may have a model guide for you to look at. If not, someone here knows how to decode the model number into the year.

Not familiar with the Model number. If this motor predates needle bearings, then you would use 24:1 mix.

Thanks. I should have put on the thread that it is a 1957. So the mix should be 24:1?

Your RDE-19 is actually a 1958 model, justafloatin. A lot of them were made in 1957, just like 1958 auto models.

Roger on the 24:1.
