Spark Plugs Gapless

Looking for advice suggestions on why or why not go with gapless sparkplugs.

Champion L77J4 or QL78V or L78V or QL16V are listed for 84 100hp being eventually remounted on 15-1/2 foot bass boat.

i have an 1981 140 that calls for these "gapless" plugs, EVERY mechanic ive talked to said DO NOT!!! use them, so i dont- they said to run L77JC4 's or QL77JC4's if you have a stereo or a VHF the QL's dont produce as much radio interference and there for wont interfere with you tunes or coms :D

The story that I have heard most cited, and makes sense to me, is that the surface gap plugs work well under continuous high speed running. For more routine operation, use the gapped plugs.
