1988 evinrude 225 trim tilt not going up

Motor: 1988 Evinrude 225 v6

press thumb switch, goes down no worries.
press up, nothing; no sound from the motor, no clicking noise from solenoids or relays, nothing.

Researched online and suggested its either the thumb switch or a $20 up-relay.

Any suggestions?

heres 1 idea if ya can switch the wires for switch test it that way otherwords if the down works for the going up its probably the switch

switched the relay, still nothing. Trying to test the actual thumb switch on the control today.
