help assembling throttle control for a 115hp Merc

Ive got a 1975 115hp Merc on a Skeeter bass boat I had a broken throttle cable so I bought a new one and took apart the control and replaced the cable but now I cant get the control reassembled is there some trick to it? can anybody give me some pointers? any help at all would be greatly appreaciated thanks

I have the same issue. Did you ever get this figured out?

Not sure if it's the same, but if you have the high speed idle/warm-up lever on yours, try lifting it a little bit at a time while attempting to "mate" the two halves back together. That's what worked for me.
