Forgive me if I am asking this in the wrong section. I'm new to the forum.
I am building a plywood boat with my boys and I have the hull completely together and am ready to start taping the seams. This may be a dumb question, but I have several gallons of epoxy paint (which is what I plan to finish the boat with) and I noticed that epoxy resin is very expensive. I have no idea what the difference between the two would be.
My question is: Can I use epoxy paint instead of epoxy resin to tape the seams with fiberglass cloth or do I need to use epoxy resin?
I'm sorry if it's a dumb question, but in my novice thinking, epoxy is epoxy. I don't want to use it if it's not going to work though. My plan is to put 3 coats of epoxy paint on the whole boat (inside and out).
