danmar;

What is your engine s/n?

In one sentence you are talking about wiring and next about a tube midway in housing. Are you talking about the wiring harness that has been cut or some other tube.

Here is a parts list for an '86 45. See if you can identify what you are referring to from the various sections.

sorry to case confusion. this is an 1/8" tube coming from the head between spark plugs going to the drivers side then forward but ends midway inside the housing appears to have been cut, that was reason for explaining wiring. tell tale tube comes from top of head down thru lower cowl this tube is about 1/2" in size, not sure where this should hook into, have not found it in parts diagrams as of yet. thanks for your help danmar

Still no s/n!

Does the boat have a side mounted throttle and shift box? Does the boat have a water pressure gauge mounted in the instrument panel?

The telltale 1/2" is for overboard dumping of cooling water and you can direct that overboard wherever you want but best in a place where you can see it from the driver's position. If you follow the telltale hose back up to the head, is it connected to a "T" fitting and is the other cut tube connected to one side of this "T" as well?

s/n oa999827 1/2"telltale tube connects to 90 "ell" at top goes pretty much straight down to a hole in the lower cowling. the1/8" tube is hard plastic much like a car vacuum line. it does not appear to connect to telltale hose no "tees" or holes or splices just stops about the area of coils & switch box. it connects to cyl head with a compression type fitting 90 "ell" goes toward drivers side is molded to bend towards the front and just stops. cant find any place in hoses that it might have been before thanks again danmar oh yeah no h2o gauge on panel, should have side shift controls but again thinking dr. frankenstien was at work when this was put on thanks
