Some will sell you 3' of RR for next to nothing more then shipping ( Ups can ship 8' I think..out of a 20' stick that leaves 4' scraps ) I just got my shipment of Catalina RR and had 4 sticks of 3-4' scrap in there just to help with "packaging".

I must say that replacing 3' is not standard in normal replacement .. get as much length as possible from your nearest seam IMO.
