Hi there!
First of all have to say that I'm new here...so please be patient.
I recently have bought a project Mustang speedboat with Evinrude 140 V4 outboard.
The previous owner told me taht engine was fine but hasnt been used for last 4 years;/.
I have checked the sparks first and noticed that there is no spark on cylinedr no.3.
I checked the kill switch (disonected the yellow/black wire) and still no spark.
I checked the coil...and seems to be ok.
What to do next?...hope that powerpack is ok!?
The probelm is that the one of red wires which goes from powerpack to ignition coil seems to fail...as when pluged this coil to another wire (from cycliner no.1) saw spark?
Please help!:)...
PS. What to do if the engine hasnt been used for 4 years, and now would like to start it again (clean carbs...)?
Thank you and Regrads form Europe.

So, You switched the #1 powerpack ignition coil wire to the #3 coil and you got spark? I would say it is a powerpack issue. Check the #3 powerpack wire for any breaks in the insulation.

If this motor has not been started in four years, I would rebuild the carburetors. Clogged high speed jets will cause a lean condition which could burn a piston.
