Im new to Boats and as a summer project Im considering taking a nice small sized ski boat from the 80's and redoing it up nice. Where should I start?

Take a look at our completed projects forum and you will see fiberglass boats that started out in poor condition and are now in perfect shape. That is what the restoration section is all about.

When you say build it up, where do you plan to build it up from? If it's from a bare hull to a completed boat, then you've got a lot of reading and planning to do. If it's from a hull you buy and fix up the interior and recarpet/paint..then you have a lot of reading and planning to do.

Either way, keep us updated, as we all for some reason like other peoples projects. ;P

glad to see a good summer project.

the candidate boat MUST have a few things going for it first......or the cost will kill you.
please post your possibles here and we can guide you to a great fun project.

That's the Last thing most of the posters here Thought they were gonna do, when they started out just patchin' a "Soft spot" in their deck...
But,...
It's Exactly what most of Us end up doin' Anyways,....;)

Start readin',... There's 100s, no 1000s of projects in here, Exactly like yer wantin' to do...

If you deecide to go ahead with your project, I recomend finding a donor boat for parts, otherwise you could spend as much as a new boat in parts.
