1993 Mercury 75hp - oil injected....hasn't been on the water in 2 yrs. Started fine ran well at idle and half throttle...dies at higher throttle... I'm sure it's a fuel carburetor issue but how do I begin to troubleshoot? Are there some things that I should do before ripping off the carburetor and starting a rebuild? I have cleaned the tanks and used "stabil" ....open to further suggestions....thx

At about what rpm does it die? Does it act as if running out of fuel or switch suddenly cut off? The reason I ask is you could have a high speed winding out on stator or the carbs are really gummed. If carbs dont not try a additive to clean but remove and physically clean them.

JBT;

Here is the information I promised you from the Force forum:

JBT;

Need your s/n to confirm but this should be the service manual you require:

http://1manual.com/Mercury manuals...45_2/cover.pdf

You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to use this manual. If you scroll down to the lower part of the opening page, you will see the various engine components in red. Click on the one you want and when the first page opens, click on the "Save As" icon at the top LH corner of the page and you can save it to your computer.

Parts listing:
