88 alpha 1, I forgot to lower the drive and I have started it twice now with it up. First few times out it was fine. I went from a 19 pitch to a 21 ptch prop now I get a vibration when I try to trim the motor up or down from certain spot. It gets worse at higher rpm say over 3500. Less than 12 hours on the new motor and coupler. I used an alignment tool to get the proper alignment on install.

So my question is, what's causing my vibration? Prop? Ujoints? Something go out of alignment?

Pull the drive and have a look inside.

pulled the out drive off. Checked the gimble bearing it feels smooth. It was new when I put the engine in as well.

Stuck in the alignment tool and that looks good.

U-joints feel smooth.

Is it possible that a prop causes this type of vibration? Or should I just put in the new u-joints and see how that does?

My slant is start easy. Prop easier to rule out then u-joints.

out drive is already off. so changing 2 u-joints out is not a big deal for me.

another question on this. If the trim limit is properly set, should you be able to operate the outdrive at any posistion with out any type of vibrations?
