I am taking my 2005 Searay Bravo 3 Mercruiser 260 hp boat from San Diego to Lake Tahoe for a trip. In the past it would not even get on plain when I go sea level to high altitude. It has a 24P prop on it. If I buy and install a 20p prop will that do the job?

I don't know the elevation but I can tell you they you will lose about 3% for each 1000 ft.
If it ever planed you could use that rpm to figure a prop change better.
A 20" is about a 16% change it surely will plane.Whether it will reach rpm your guess is as good as mine.

That sounds about right to me. Kind of depends on the WOT RPM you are getting at sea level right now. For that elevation I drop 4" of pitch with my rig, or should I say I drop 4" of pitch while I'm at lakes 6000-9000'.

Run your rig through thisprop selector and see what it spits out. It worked pretty well for me.
