1986 tilt switch is bad, fix or add a new one

For some reason on my throttle the tilt/trim switch has gone out. It will go down, but not up. I hate messing with electrical, so in my head its easier to disconnect and add a new switch beside throttle. Good idea or a bad lazy *** idea?

If the PTT switch is indeed faulty, replace it with an identical switch.

You could have other probs than the switch. Check the system out before replacing.

I just assummed it was the switch because I can touch the blue wire with an xtra wire to the brown and it will bring the motor up. Since the trim motors are fine, and the switch will work going down I just figured it was in the switch.

You can be in and out in 30 minutes or less, so why not replace the switch, if that is the issue.
