I am helping a friend who has a 1985 70 Evinrude Model #CE70TLCOS. He installed a new oms pump kit after the first pump burnt up, now this pump has burnt out the alarm circuit, he caught it before it totally destroyed this pump. What could cause this? Could reverse polarity do it? I've checked the wiring and can't see anything except his alarm buzzer wasn't working which i will fix. From all my searching i don"t think you can just buy the electrical part? When this happened it burnt and shorted out his tilt/trim wiring which was repaired before his last oms pump was replaced. This is the same thing that happened to forum member barroomhero. Thanks for your help.
