I want to change my 1999 3 hp yamaha outboard to an external fuel tank, does the fuel pump have the capability of pulling the fuel up from the external tank or is there not enough suction? Has anyone tried this before?

I did it on my 3SG. If you send an email address I can send pictures. I tried to make a thread on here but I could load the pictures so I gave up
