Hi All. Recently changed 2002 Sea Ray 240 5.0l 2 barrel TBI to a 5.7l engine. All running gear swapped straight over. I have read conflicting opinions on whether I need to change ECU. Injectors same part numbers and obviously with larger capacity engine, likely needs a longer injector pulse that the 5.7l ECU will deliver. However, the boat was running great initially but seems to intermittantly lose torque and this all started once i set base timing. Plugs dont look like they are running lean. Has intermittant IACV issue and I maybe looking at a secondary issue. What I need to understand is do I need to change ECU that may explain some of these issues I am having? Thanks in advance.

Two different sized engines, so I would expect different ECM's. Mercruiser used different ECM's for the 5.0 and 5.7.
