75HP Evenrude outboard lower unit oil leak

I have a 81 Evenrude 75HP outboard I notice a small oil leak making a small oil spot under the motor. I have the motor raised and locked in place. The oil leak is leaking on the backside of the lower unit right where it bolts up to the bottom of the upper section. What is causing this? Is this somthing I should worry about? Thank you for your imput.

Post a picture, your "backside" might be someone else's frontside depending on how you are looking at the motor. A picture also better pinpoints where the leak is at.

What oil are you using in the engine? What mixture? What color/smell is the leaking oil? Sometimes unburnt 2 stroke mix oil will leak out of the exhaust and appear to be drive oil. Or you have a drive oil leak and need to pressure/vac test it.

Here is a picture of what I am refering too. Right under the blue, white, and red sticker on the back side of the lower unit there looks to me a very small hole that is leaking oil out of it. It's never happened before this year.

I am using quicksilver motor oil with non-ethenol fuel. I add either stabil or seafoam to every 6 gallon tank. I mix it 50:1 in the tank.

Is it possible that the oil leaking is from the fuel if by chance I had it richer than 50:1?

That small hole is a vent for unburnt gas/oil mix,touch your finger to it,smell it if it smells of gas that is what it is,Its normal no worries
